Youth Leadership Development Certificate Program Consultant List

Dr. Ernest Cheng, a graduate of OISE, University of Toronto, is an educator and publisher. He is the Managing Director of CTC (Canadian Test Centre) and the creator of the Canadian Achievement Test (CAT) series, being used widely by schools across Canada. He has also been a Sunday school teacher for 29 years. Combining his passions for trees and youth, he recently completed a book called “A Tree Planter’s Dream”.


Dr. Maisy Cheng is a graduate of OISE, University of Toronto and has over 20 years of educational research experience with a Toronto school board. She has two adult sons and is an active member at her church, and is currently involved in the children/youth and counseling ministries.


Dr. Eric Fong is a professor of sociology at the University of Toronto. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. His edited book, "Inside the Mosaic," was published by University of Toronto Press this summer. His forthcoming book, co-edited with Chiu Luk, "Chinese Ethnic Businesses: Local and Global Perspectives," will be published by Routledge this winter.


Professor Wilfred Fong is the Associate Dean of the Faculty of Business and Information Technology at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT). He has developed new academic programs in IT security and game development. Before this, he worked at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) for 18 years and received an Outstanding Academic Staff Award. He initiated a distance education program which was ranked as one of the 10 best web-based programs in 2001 by the US News and World Report.


Grace Wong, a graduate of University of Western Ontario, is a management accountant for a Canadian bank. A volunteer with Across U-hub since 2000, Grace has participated in various areas projects, including the camp program team and as a performer in the Re-feel playback theatre.


Maria Yau, a graduate of OISE - University of Toronto, is an educational researcher associated with the Toronto District School Board since 1987. Her research and publications cover a wide range of educational issues with a special focus on equity in education. Ms. Yau is also active in her church and the community, especially in areas related to children, youth, education and parenting.
