Believe in youth, Create a better future
Today our youth don't dare to dream; nor to aspire. They are afraid to face the adult world. They cannot grab hold of the future, so they choose to avoid. They go onto getting one degree after another, indulge in internet surfing. Their world is confined and narrow. But still I believe there are many youth who do not want to be trapped. Even for those who have to compromise because of the lack of help, they long for a way out.
Our children need companions in their generation to experience life and grow up together - they need a community. Across U-hub has been striving to build an interactive youth community. We focus on the emptiness inside our youth; our activities stress self-awareness, active listening and interpersonal communication. Through these activities, our youth can discover their true selves, and they learn about team playing and building up their confidence. Ultimately, they learn that they're not alone in life.
Another focus of Across U-hub is mentoring relationship. We believe it is important to be with young people. After each activity, we always make use of debriefing opportunities; to help consolidate their experience. Most importantly, we let them know we care about them.
I am very excited to see young lives being ignited through the work of Across U-hub. All it takes is one youth finding direction in life to make our effort all worth it. I believe in youth, and I believe we can create a better future for them.
