Youth Leadership Development Certificate Program

About Youth Leadership Development Certificate Course

The Youth Leadership Development Certificate Program is an innovative approach to provide leadership training to Canadian youths.  It is tailored to their needs and aims to expand their horizons in life development knowledge, skills, and experiences.  It also intends to develop a youth community that encourages critical inquiry and realizes leadership potentials.  Courses offered by the program will explore effective leadership at both conceptual and practical levels.

YLD Certificate

There are three levels of certificates in the program.  Students will receive a certificate after they complete each level of courses.  The first two levels are designed to be completed within one year.  Elective courses are divided to three categories or specializations, addressing different areas of interest.  The three specializations are: Skills Development, Outdoor Challenges, and Multimedia Development.  Courses are usually offered in the evenings or during the weekends.

Level 1:
The first level consists of 4 courses to be selected from the core courses and electives:
2 core courses (Principles of Leadership, and Self-development)
2 elective course from two of the three specializations (Skill Development, Outdoor Challenges and Multimedia Development)

Level 2:
The second level will be awarded when an additional 3 courses are completed successfully.
