About Tic-Tac-Toronto

Untitled document Tic-Tac-Toronto is to inspire youth to go beyond their comfort zone. They may appreciate the cultural mosaic of Canada and become a full contributor to their new home. Immigrant youth have often been prevented from reaching their potential due to language and cultural differences. We offer organized activities to learn about local arts, cultures and communities with follow-up discussions. Subsequently, we hope to enable them to contribute enthusiastically a vibrant multicultural society.

Upcoming Programs:

Have you ever thought about why we celebrate Chinese New Year? Do you ever ask yourself where did Chinese New Year come from?  Have you ever wonder why we have to eat certain food, to dress differently, and to care about certain important dates in the Chinese Lunar calendar? Have any of these questions ever pop-up on your mind during Chinese New Year?  If so, then here is a great opportunity for you to learn about our Chinese New Year culture.  We will bring you information through different variety of activities such as cooking, playing, thinking, writing, and listening in order to understand our Chinese culture a bit better.  So, what are you waiting for?  Signup and have fun together!

City Warmer: Sandwich Run to the Homeless
Code: TT-6-1003
Untitled document

The Sandwich Run program hosted by Project417 provides an opportunity to get involved in meeting people who call themselves the street home. In the freezing weather of downtown Toronto during the winter, homeless are striving for food and shelter in order to keep themselves warm and comfortable. This meaningful program involves making sandwiches for homeless, walking for couple of hours in search for these homeless people, delivering bag lunches, socks, blankets, water and friendly smiles in the street of Toronto for the homeless. This fascinating experience allows us to give love and care back to the street community.  At the same time, it lectures us on the ways on how we should deal with homeless people around our community in our daily life.

City Teller: Trees Across Toronto
Code: TT-6-1004
Untitled document

It takes decades for trees to grow; however, it only takes seconds to cut them down.  As Toronto residents, it's our social responsibility to create a "greener" Toronto community.  “Trees Across Toronto” is an annual tree-planting program organized by the City of Toronto.  During the date of the event, we will have the opportunity to participate and educate in the tree planning process.  This great experience will help to double Toronto’s tree canopy and to restore some of our underdeveloped and “un-treed” lands.  This is your chance to dig in and plant trees across Toronto.  Sign up and be the one, these trees are waiting for you!

For more information about the project of "Trees Across Toronto", please visit www.toronto.ca/parks/tat/index.htm.
