Tic-Tac-Toronto is to inspire youth to go beyond their comfort zone. They may appreciate the cultural mosaic of Canada and become a full contributor to their new home. Immigrant youth have often been prevented from reaching their potential due to language and cultural differences. We offer organized activities to learn about local arts, cultures and communities with follow-up discussions. Subsequently, we hope to enable them to contribute enthusiastically a vibrant multicultural society.
The intent of “Refeel” is to create a communicative platform through various interactive media forms such as music, teambuilding game, dance, drama, painting, photography, film and forum that would attract the interest and participation of youth in general. The main purpose of “Refeel” is to motivate youth to make good social connections that lead to the long-term impact on young participants; making healthy changes in their lifestyle and staying socially connected with new found friends.
Leadership Training Camp is one of our exciting and successful programs since 1999. In Canada we are blessed with an abundance of natural resources and a vast geographic landscape. We design various outdoor activities to equip our new generation with courage and discipline to face challenges. Youth mentors are involved in debriefing the participants in order that the experiences can become a character building opportunity. Each year we organize at least two camps serving 250 youths of aged 16 –23. Here we emphasize more on outdoor challenges and nature appreciation. Each camp usually involves more than 50 young volunteers and 15 experienced youth mentors. Making use of the preparation platform, we offer 4-month intensive training on planning, promotion, administrative management and safely for each camp. We also hold 10 programs a year on safety training, outdoor skills, and hiking in order to ensure the yearly Leadership Training Camp is a safe, dynamic and memorable experience for all our youth campers.
The program on "Youth Leadership Development" is an innovative approach to provide leadership training to Canadian youths. It is tailored to their needs and to expand their horizons in life development knowledge, skills, and experiences. It also intends to foster the development of a youth community where critical inquiry is encouraged and leadership potentials are realized. The program offers a variety of courses on, but not limited to, self-development, mentoring skills, outdoor challenges, and multimedia. These courses will explore the conceptual and practical aspects on the subjects.
